Blueberry Smoothie with Yoghurt and Flaxseeds

This blueberry smoothie is my go-to morning smoothie. It is packed with protein and antioxidants too, which also make it a perfect post-workout snack.

This smoothie also has some essential fats known as omega 3 fats, which are of great importance for a healthy nervous system (cognitive function, anxiety, depression), hormone balance, joints and ligaments, gut health and skin health.

In fact, every single cell in your body requires these fats, therefore every system does too. Unfortunately however, it is now thought that the majority of us are not getting enough of this highly anti-inflammatory nutrient to meet the needs of our highly inflammatory diets and lifestyles.

Ingredients:

A good handful of blueberries

1/2 banana

1 tbsp. ground flaxseeds

3 heaped tbsp. soya or coconut yoghurt

1 cup almond milk

Handful of spinach

2 -3 ice cubes


 

Directions:

Whizz it all up in a blender, and enjoy!
